# What Is a Director's Service Address?

Every UK company director must provide a **service address** that appears on the public Companies House register. This is where official correspondence from Companies House, HMRC, and other bodies is sent.

By default, many directors use their home address — which makes it publicly visible. Our add-on lets you use our London address instead.

> ⚠️ **Important:** A director's service address is **not** the same as a registered office address. The registered office is your company's official address. The director's service address is the individual director's public contact address. You may need both.

# How to Set It Up

### If you already have a Hoxton Mix virtual office:
Add the Director's Service Address from your [customer portal](https://www.account.hoxtonmix.com/) under **Manage Subscriptions → Add Add-ons**.

### If your company is not yet incorporated:
You can buy the registered office service first and add the Director's Service Address once your company is registered and you have a company number.

### Updating Companies House
Change your service address using:
- The [CH01 form](https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/470733/CH01_v6.0.pdf) (paper)
- The [Companies House WebFiling Service](https://ewf.companieshouse.gov.uk/) (online)

# Common Questions

**Is this the same as a registered office address?**
No. The registered office is your company's official address. The director's service address is a separate, personal address for each director shown on the public register. You may need both.

**Do I need one for every director?**
Each director or person of significant control (UBO) who wants to keep their home address private needs their own service address. Pricing is per individual.

**I hold multiple roles (director, secretary, PSC). Do I need to pay for each role?**
No. The service address is charged **per individual person**, not per role. If you are the director, company secretary, and a person of significant control (PSC) all at once, you only need one Director's Service Address subscription. A single subscription covers all of your roles within the same company.

**Is statutory mail forwarded to me?**
Yes. Mail from HMRC, Companies House, and other government bodies is forwarded to you at no additional UK postage cost.

**Can I add this later?**
Yes. You can add or remove the service at any time from your [customer portal](https://www.account.hoxtonmix.com/).

**Does this work for LLP members?**
Yes. LLP partners can also use this service as their service address.
